Background
In the markets where Visit Sweden focuses on travel trade, tour operators’ and travel agent’s channels are among the most influential—and their importance continues to grow.
When Visit Sweden surveys its target audience—global travelers interested in Sweden—research confirms that travel agency and tour operator websites and apps remain key sources of information and inspiration before a trip. These businesses extensively utilize digital channels and social media to inspire and attract travelers searching for new destinations.
For Sweden as a travel destination and for the Swedish hospitality industry, it is crucial to maintain visibility in international tour operator and travel agent channels to reach and influence potential travelers in choosing Sweden for their next holiday.
Visit Sweden is seeking a travel trade specialist to manage various project-based assignments. These projects include maintaining relationships with and supporting tour operators in the UK market, assisting travel advisors in the US market, executing marketing campaigns, creating and reviewing English-language content, and organizing events and trade fairs. For this assignment, Visit Sweden is looking for an experienced consultant.

Description of assignment
Language Review “Sweden for Travel Professionals” – 40 hours (fixed assignment)
The consultant will conduct a professional language review of the English content on the website Sweden for Travel Professionals to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with the desired tone and style. The consultant will receive an introduction to the CRM system (Wagtail) provided by Visit Sweden to understand its interface and content management functionalities. All necessary text corrections should be implemented directly within Wagtail, focusing on maintaining content structure, formatting, and internal linking consistency.
Additionally, the consultant will provide a brief summary report highlighting key findings, major corrections, and recommendations for future content improvements. The final deliverables will include all revised content within the CRM system and the summary report. The total scope of work is 40 hours, with a deadline for completion by the end of June 2025.

Other projects and tasks as a Travel Trade Manager – upon request (up to 20% working time)

Upon request, assist with various Travel Trade tasks, including event coordination, market engagement with tour operators, marketing collaborations with tour operators, coordination of FAM trips, content creation for Travel Trade channels such as website updates and newsletters, research projects, and providing knowledge and insights from a specific market. Tasks may be both project-based and ongoing as part of always-on activities.

Skallkrav

At least 10 years of experience in event marketing such as events, fam-trips, work shops.
At least 10 years of relevant experience of project management of various sorts.
At least 5 years of relevant experience of B2B Travel Trade communication
Extensive experience with projects involving National Tourism Boards
Experience of the touristic offerings of Sweden through previous market visits
Large and relevant network of tour operators & travel agents and trade organizations in the UK and US
In the quotation, the proposed consultant’s CV must be attached, which describes suitability and experience.
Language skills on native level in English
Office location in the UK

Börkrav

Have been running a registered business in the UK
Good language skills in Swedish.
Knowledge and experience of Visit Sweden’s work and marketing activities.
Basic knowledge of the hospitality industry’s structures in Sweden, and its range.
