Description:
Electrical/Electronic Engineering encompasses the planning, design, development, testing, installation, and co-ordination of related activities involving electrical/electronic components and systems, including automation. It also co-ordinates activities internally and with other groups to effectively accomplish objectives requiring knowledge of associated functions and related engineering fields. Use computers and selected programs for such matters as preparing reports and conducting analyses.
Independently perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices, towards set goals. Plan, conduct or coordinate a range of complex engineering activities encompassing one or more engineering disciplines. Conduct or coordinate complex analyses, advanced technical studies and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices and business considerations as well as potentially legal and other agency requirements.
Minimum requirements of education and experience:
• Minimum six (6) years of work experience within the relevant field and a bachelor or master’s degree, or
• Another technical degree with more than 15 years of work experience within relevant field.
• Working command of the English language mandatory, Swedish preferred.

As an electrical designer you will be responsible for designing parts or entire automation cabinet solutions, low voltage switchgear for motor control (MCC), and junction boxes for our cooling system solutions. You will be part of our electrical design and automation group, which works broadly with electrical design and automation both in project environments and R&D. In this role you will, under the guidance of the responsible project engineer, prepare electrical documentation for our delivery projects.
The role includes technical responsibility to maintain Hitachi’s quality and follow applicable standards and specifications. Part of your time will be dedicated to aftermarket issues for technical support in already delivered projects.
Since we have production in Landskrona and thus a responsibility towards the production staff, the work must be carried out on-site in Landskrona to the greatest extent possible, and as a consultant, you work on-site in Landskrona 100%. Normal working hours are between 07:30-16:30 / 08:00 – 17:00.
Your Responsibilities
- Electrical design according to customer specifications, selection of components and solutions with guidance from the project engineer.
- Electrical design of automation cabinets, low voltage switchgear (MCC), and junction boxes. Normal voltages, power 208/400/480/690VAC and control 24-220VDC.
- Entry of articles and BOM lists in the business system (SAP).
- Establish and work according to applicable quality documentation, process maps, work instructions, functional descriptions, guides, etc.
- Creation of specifications for subcontractors.
- Under the guidance of the lead engineer, perform long-term improvements within your segment.
- Aftermarket support through troubleshooting and developing solutions as needed.
- Participate in various component testing, factory tests, FAT, and supplier evaluations.
- Commissioning for SAT as well as supplier visits and other travel may occur.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical design within relevant industries such as machinery manufacturing, process industry, water, and purification plants. Of which several years in project operations. You have a post-secondary education or a technical education and longer experience in a relevant profession.
- Have previously worked with electrical design solutions in project deliveries from market to commissioning.
- Very good knowledge of Elprocad or other relevant CAD tools.
- Good knowledge and understanding of redundant solutions.
- Good knowledge of IEC61439, IEC61000-6-2 / IEC 6100-6-4.
- Meritorious: PLC programming, UL / CSA standards, design according to UL / CSA. Good knowledge of the Machinery Directive and practical experience in electrical cabinet construction (automation)
- Swedish preferred, English mandatory
Levels with numbers (1-5): Increasing experience from 1=Very Junior up to 5=Very Experienced
Levels with letters (A-F): Increasing experience from F=Very Junior up to A=Very Experienced
