Description:
Software Engineering consists of the development, introduction, and application of software to respond to customer requirements and to cost-effectively provide a means of analysing, producing, distributing, and storing information.

Independently perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices, towards set goals. Plan, conduct or coordinate a range of complex engineering activities encompassing one or more engineering disciplines. Conduct or coordinate complex analyses, advanced technical studies and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices and business considerations as well as potentially legal and other agency requirements.

Minimum requirements of education and experience:
• Minimum six (6) years of work experience within the relevant field and a bachelor or master’s degree, or
• Another technical degree with more than 15 years of work experience within relevant field.
• Working command of the English language.

Additional Hiring Information for Supplier:
IT/OT System Lead for a larger project with a team for design and testing in Ludvika Sweden and a team for design and testing in Chennai India. Coordination between the teams and leading primarily the team in Ludvika. Within IT/OT Systems scope are HMI, SCADA, IT network and Cybersecurity.
Experience from larger IT systems design/testing in OT applications is relevant.
Possible to work upto 49% home, depending on current project phase.
Could be some limited travels to meet customer or team in Chennai.

Possible end date for assignment will be Dec 2024.

The SOM (Station Operation and Monitoring) domain within our business is constantly expanding in terms of requirements and work. A clear indicator of where the customers’ as well as Hitachi Energy’s internal requirements are both increasing and becoming more advanced is in the Network and Cybersecurity areas. Especially complex cybersecurity requirements can be found in US projects (complying to the NERC-CIP standard) and in German projects (complying to the BDEW standard) but the trend is basically everywhere the same. Power Quality Solution is currently in the process of recruiting more SOM Engineers for the network and cybersecurity areas, but experienced externals are needed on top of this to leverage the increased workload. Working in Hitachi Energy Power Quality Solution delivery projects as a Network and Cybersecurity Engineer. Tasks included for network system engineering; setting-up and configuring network switches, firewalls, routers and other network equipment as well as testing the installation in OT control systems used in complex power systems application. Tasks included for cybersecurity engineering; define and assess OT control system solutions to meet the requirements from cybersecurity standards.
In the role you will work as a member of the project engineering team and as such interact and collaborate with other project members as well as customers’ representative.

Some detailed expected proven experience for the Network Engg. domain are:
* experienced in network designing and engineering of OT control system.
* good understanding and knowledge of commonly used Layer 2&3 switching protocols.
* good understanding of routing protocols and experienced in configuring standard Firewall & next gen firewalls like FortiGate.
* it is plus to have wide experience different firewalls like CISCO, Juniper.
* good understanding of commonly used protocols like LDAP, SMB, SFTP, HTTP, SSL, SSH etc.
* experience in troubleshooting TCP/IP network.
* knowledge of Network Analyzers like Wireshark is a plus.
* Performing the network architecture risk assessment.
* Understanding the customer specification and good knowledge to design the network architecture / topology.
* Minimal knowledge on the necessity of zoning in the network architecture.

Some detailed expected proven experience for the Cybersecurity Engg. domain are:
* understanding of OT environment components and OT security.
* awareness of OT cybersecurity standards, requirements, guidelines and regulations (IEC62443, NERC–CIP, BDEW, NIST Publication).
* understanding of cybersecurity topics like AAA, RBAC, Network access control.
* good understanding of Windows Operating system.
* understanding of Active directory and Group policy.
* awareness of commonly used security tools like NESUS, CIS CAT, Nmap, McAfee ePO is a plus.
* interest and motivation to understand the recent cyberattacks (critical infrastructures) and security technologies (IDS, IPS, SIEM).
* good understanding for VPN and PKI.

Background:
1. Knowledge in embedded systems in general.
2. C/C++ programmer.
3. Good documentation skills.
4. English (speaking and proficiency in writing).
5. Master’s (or 5 years Bachelors) in Computer science/engineering, Electrical/Electronics engineering.
6. Advantage if have knowledge in: Agile, Azure, Git, embedded systems, electronics.

Tasks:
1. To lead a multidisciplinary Agile team as Product Owner (Agile) of Main & Fast computers of MACH platform.
2. To prioritize tasks, to distribute to team members, and to support the team in a daily basis.
3. To troubleshoot the software and to prepare/connect the hardware setup for the tests.
4. To continuously improve the knowledge about the MACH system, going more and more deep in details.
5. To interface with different departments, answer requests, and document all communication and decisions.
6. To be delivery and deadline oriented.
